Multimedia Games had a hard GoLive date that needed to be met and needed to marry their Agile PG&C with their Enterprise System (NAV). They had hit some road blocks in the implementation of Agile and it was beginning to look grim. They needed a partner that could come in during the second half of the game and pull off a comeback victory.

Once they were engaged on the project ZWS helped Multimedia Games start from scratch in the implementation of Agile and PG&C. We redesigned their compliance functionality to match up with the specific needs around the regulatory requirements in the gambling industry allowing them to take advantage of their PLM and Enterprise integration in the process.

With the help of ZWS, Multimedia Games was able to make their GoLive date. We are also assisting with data migration into this regulatory environment along with engineering data currently residing in their legacy PDM (Windchill) system. Zero Wait-State has become MMG’s go to resource for PLM support and provides guidance and resources to help them expand their PLM footprint to gain more value from their investment in PLM.

Sub-Zero Wolf.

Sub-Zero is a brand of residential major kitchen appliances including refrigeration and wine preservation products built in the USA by the Sub-Zero Freezer Company, Inc. The company also manufactures kitchen appliances under the Wolf brand name.

Problem-icon.pngThe Challenge

Sub Zero-Wolf had developed a process for retrieving compliance information from suppliers that relied on spreadsheets and documents. The process was time consuming, resulted in information silos, and required manual entry of data into their ERP system. They needed to find a better way to collect supplier information around compliance, and a solution that would prevent information fragmentation silos.

Solution-icon.pngThe Solution

Since they were in the process of implementing Agile PLM already, they decided that the Agile Product Governance & Compliance module would be a good fit for their particular business pain and they worked with Zero Wait-State to configure the module. With the help of LoadState, software developed to automate the process of importing compliance spreadsheets and regulatory documents into Agile, they were able to make their Compliance efforts less painful and more efficient.

With the increased efficiency in their compliance efforts Sub Zero was able to focus on other initiatives and priorities. They were able to enjoy this increase in efficiency without having to completely revolutionize their compliance process- suppliers were still able to provide information in a familiar fashion.

Luminex.

Luminex Corporation (NASDAQ: LMNX) was incorporated in May 1995 and began commercial production of our first generation system in 1997. Luminex develops, manufactures and markets innovative biological testing technologies with applications throughout the diagnostic and life science industries. The company’s open-architecture xMAP® and xTAG® Technologies enable large numbers of biological tests (bioassays) to be conducted and analyzed quickly, cost-effectively and accurately. Systems using xMAP technology perform discrete bioassays on the surface of color-coded beads known as microspheres, which are then read in a compact analyzer.

Problem-icon.pngThe Challenge

Facing the environmental challenges associated with operating in a global economy, Luminex needed a solution that would enable them to capture and report material compositions for all of their products. Specifically, they needed to track and comply with EU RoHS, EU REACH, Conflict Minerals, and Luminex internal substances that are specifically restricted in medical devices. To achieve this, they needed to implement processes and procedures to allow collaboration with suppliers directly and through a compliance content provider.

Solution-icon.pngThe Solution

Zero Wait-State deployed the Product Governance and Compliance (PG&C) module for Luminex’s Agile PLM system, and provided a comprehensive listing of PX automations and a compliance data import tool, named DocPort, to support the RFI interaction with suppliers, the downloading and importing of content provider data from Total Parts Plus, and full regulatory reporting capabilities.

benefits.pngThe Benefits

Luminex can fulfill the reporting and disclosure requirements for a wide array of compliance standards, and can dramatically reduce their global footprint and exposure to regulatory risks. Internally, they are able to support the entire compliance solution using a very small group of employees.
