Express Agile PLM Upgrade: How It Works

Many companies are looking for ways to leverage the latest software technology while stretch their investment dollars. If your organization is running an older version of Agile PLM, has skilled administrators and are looking to upgraded their Agile system, the Express Agile Upgrade may be a great fit.  The Express Agile Upgrade is suited for companies that can take charge of their own administration needs without outside help. By allowing Zero Wait-State to focus on the upgrade and installation process alone, we can keep our cost down which results in drastically reduced pricing for our customers.

If your organization needs a more hands on approach or the upgrade is riddled with technical challenges, our traditional upgrade consulting services may be a better fit.

How It Works

1. Understand the offering: Express upgrade pricing is substantially less than our full service upgrade so you need to make sure you fully read and understand the express offering so you know what is and is not included in the service.
2. Submit your information: When you are ready to proceed, fill out the form at the end of this article and attach a dump file. You will be contected within a few business days with information pertaining to the status of your request.
3. Test drive the upgrade: We will upgrade your your database and host in our environment for a short period of time (typically 3-5 business days). Once your system is ready, we will send you an email with the URL, username and password. Since we do not have your vault files, you will not be able to retreive attachments on existing items, but you are able to attach and view new files.
4. You decide the next step: If you choose to accept the upgrade we will continue with the process formalizing the terms of the purchase and proceed. If for some reason you choose not to continue, you have lost nothing.
5. Install Agile: Once you have decided to move forward, we will install the number of purchased environments. Typically all environments are installed in the same focused stint. Less task swapping means higher productivity and lower cost for everyone; a primary goal of the express offering.
6. Your Data, Your Environment: Next we will migrate the hosted dump that was upgraded into one of the new Agile environments installed at your facility.
7. Get Trained: Zero Wait-State extends gap training to outline new features in Agile PLM through our recorded videos. This is a great way to ramp up quickly while you are preparing for your production cut over.
8. Get Ready for Go Live: Set a go live date with a 2 day turn around. This typically starts at Thursday COB and provides one day for the database upgrade and a second day for a contingency in case Oracle needs to be involved with any issue resolution activities
9. Go Live: At the go live, your administrators will need to stop the production system, copy the vault file to the new location (if different) and provide us with the final dump file to upgrade. We will perform the upgrade and install the dump file into all purchased environments
10. Enjoy Your New Agile PLM System: Once your system is live Zero Wait-State has a number of support offerings to assist you in case your administrators get stuck.
